Central Argentina
Córdoba
Grain country and low sierras. The classic Argentine field shoot, and the asado that follows it.

Córdoba sits where the pampas start to rise. Sorghum, maize and sunflower run to the horizon, broken by low sierras and the dark lines of native monte. It is farmland that happens to be beautiful, and it is the reason most people's first Argentine trip starts here.
The shooting is high-volume and the days are long, but the part travellers describe afterwards is usually the rest of it: the drive back in the dark, the fire already lit, the table that does not break up until late. Córdoba is close enough to Buenos Aires to attach to anything else, and self-contained enough to be the whole trip.
Non-shooting companions are not an afterthought here. The sierras have riding, water, long lunches and towns worth an afternoon, and we plan those days with the same care as the field ones.
