Patagonia
Cold water, long light and distance. Trout rivers, steppe and the eastern slope of the Andes.

Patagonia is less a place than a scale. Between the Andes and the Atlantic there is a lot of nothing, and the trips that work here are the ones that respect that rather than trying to fill it.
The fishing is the usual reason to come: spring creeks, freestone rivers and lakes on the Andean side, sea-run brown trout further south and east. Water temperature, wind and snowmelt move the good weeks around from year to year, so we plan against conditions rather than a brochure calendar.
It is also the region where a non-fishing day is easiest to make genuinely good. Steppe driving, wildlife, estancia riding and southern beech forest are all within reach of the same base, and the light in the southern summer runs until almost ten at night.
